Little Blue truck cupcakes for Daniel

Mummy Jamie dropped me an email months ago to customised a set of cupcake for her little guy Daniel that is turning 2!  She sent me a cover picture of the book "Little Blue Truck" and wanted me to incorporate that into the cupcakes!

This is the first time I am trying out  painted watercolour technique on fondant and I am loving it!

Little blue truck and yellow dump truck and hand crafted out of fondant.

2D  design of sheep, cow, pig and frog to complete the design.

Cupcake flavour moist chocolate cake with chocolate ganache.

Liverpool, electric guitar and music theme cake for Adam

Last week, I had a most memorable trip to Kuala Lumpur to watch the LFC vs Malaysia football match.  What's more, I get to catch a glimpse of the players... yay!!!

Coincidentally right after the trip,  the first the project is LFC theme and  I dived right into the preparation of the sugar works.    This cake also incorporated birthday boy's favourite music and electric guitar.

Cake flavour was vanilla and chocolate cake with dark chocolate ganache filling.

Carousel cake for Emma's Big 1!

This is a grand birthday cake for Emma, my grand niece back in May and I am now getting ready to share.
Emma's dad and mum threw her the best carousel themed birthday party ever!
I have to admit that I felt a little pressure to pull off  this carousel cake, because other than the pillar, the entire cake structure including the steps, crown top and pinnacle are all edible.  It took me 5 days to walk thru the process of crafting the sugar details, baking, carving, icing and covering of the cake.
As my mind started going, it became a lot of fun to dream up with what I wanted for little Emma's special day!
Cake on site after assembling the edible pinnacle top.

Daddy, Mummy and little Emma checking out the cake!

Some posed shots......

Of course Emma needed a smash cake as well.  I did a simple ombre pink and peach buttercream cake with a simple tiffany blue ribbon.  Cake flavour was feather light strawberry sponge cake.

I will never get tired of seeing little kids smash their face into my cakes!  Emma did great!

Cake flavour for the carousel cake was chocolate mud cake with chocolate ganache filling, Valhorna crunchy pearls and raspberry.

Flags of Singapore and USA

A very simple cake design which comprised of Singapore and American Flag.
This cake was to celebrate my niece birthday and at the same time a farewell cake for our American relatives.

To connect the two flags design,  cut out fondant of Singaporean and American slangs "Alakmak!(Gosh!), Shiok!(So Good!), Chio!(Hot), Tok kong(Awesome!)" were decorated around the cake.

Cake flavour was feather light sponge cake with luscious D24 durian cream.

Elegant White Cheongsum Cake with edible lace, beads and 3D Floral Appliques

Florence ordered this cake as a birthday gift for her good friend Evelyn.
She liked my last set of Peranankan Kebaya Inspired Cheongsum with traditional elements such as the floral embroidery, bead and bold colour.  Florence requested me to use that as the main inspiration for this ensemble but with white on white details and diamond accent.

To add more luxurious details, I decided to use edible corded lace accented with three dimensional flowers and scalloped edges.

Chinese knot button was crafted free hand out of fondant.

My favourite is the statement three dimension floral appliques crafted out of gumpaste, and the subtle sheen of pearl dust on the button, laces and scalloped edges.

Cake flavour was chocolate mud cake with chocolate ganache with crunchy pearls on the bottom tier, lemon cake with lemon swiss meringue buttercream on the top tier.
