The birthday cake is colour theme along auspicious red and gold with Chinese character 寿(Shou), longevity peach, floral motif and borders.
The cake choice is strawberry cake. I baked this cake with fresh strawberry purée and the end result is light, moist and not too sweet. To compliment this cake, I frosted it with strawberry swiss meringue buttercream and some fresh strawberry slices.
After covering the cake with fondant and assembled the floral motifs and border on the cake, I started painting the details in gold edible paint.
Love the outcome of the cake, it looks absolutely majestic with red and gold!
Flavour for the cupcakes is lemon cake with lemon curd Swiss meringue buttercream and vanilla cake with passion fruit curd Swiss meringue buttercream.
For design, to compliment the overall concept,
I have handcrafted the longevity Peach and cut out of mini version of 寿 (Shou).
